My husband of 39 years had been in hospital since 2/17/2020 with a heart attack. He had open heart surgery on 3/5, came home 3/11 and went back in on 3/21 because of blood oxygen being low and fever. He tested positive for Covid and was doing okay. 1 1/2 weeks later he took a turn for the worse. Saturday 4/4 he was put on a ventilator, coded 3 times and never recovered. He took his final breath on 4/9 at 6:12 PM.My heart is so broken that he had to die alone and we are unable to have closure. He was a good man who didn’t deserve that. Covid took away my right to be by my husband’s side.Submitted by: Valerie Menta

  1. I’m so sorry this virus is unforgiving . May you find comfort in sharing you story so that others may take their own fragility more seriously

  2. I’m so very sorry for your loss…I lost my husband in December not of Covid 19 but after months in the hospital waiting for heart transplant. I understand the pain you are feeling… I wish you peace.
