Catherine was living in an assisted facility due to Alzheimer’s and contracted Covid-19. She was hospitalized for five days before her death due to pneumonia complications. Catherine was one of thirteen children of Italian immigrants. She grew up in a coal mining town in West Virginia. When World War Two broke out, her family moved to Detroit and many of her siblings worked in the war factories. Catherine was a wonderful mother to two children and six grandchildren. Catherine worked in business offices and after retirement, she was an active volunteer in an elementary school and for a local hospital. She is remembered for her winning smile and generous, loving ways.
