My father was the most charismatic and charming man who loved his family, friends, and country – he was a US Marine Corps veteran. After fighting a lengthy battle with dementia, he contracted and succumbed to COVID-19 in an assisted living home in May 2020. The most difficult part about this entire situation is that my father passed away without his family surrounding him. Without us being able to tell him that we loved him and hold his hand. We were unable to see him for two months and we don’t know if he understood why. We will never have that closure. We are praying he is resting in eternal peace.
