My mother Mary Ann was a soul like any other. Everywhere we went there wasn’t a single person that didn’t know her the next time they seen her. Her energetic, humor, and loving persona was a magnet to everyone that met her and they can tell you she was a firecracker! My mother has taught me to stand strong and to face everything with a headstrong demeanor. I can’t begin to explain fully how much this woman has seen struggle and overcame it with her strength and still maintained a beautiful personality and grace. Losing her to COVID-19 was the worst moment of my life. Everyone that knew my mother and I knew that we were each other’s shadow and never parted. So losing her—not only did I lost my mother I lost my best friend.
She had also raised my two nieces since they were babies 5 months old and 1 year at the time. Now they are 11 and 12 and always called her “mom” because the love she gave wasn’t just for me and my three older brothers—it was for them to.
My love for my mother is never ending.
It will always be there and no matter what I know she’s here with me.
If there’s any advice I can give others that lost their love one: Stay strong don’t fall weak but live their life through you.
